Dari sembilan kemenangan tersebut, dua diraih menggunakan Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 pada 2014 dan 2015, sedangkan tujuh kemenangan lainnya diraih dengan Mercedes-AMG GT3 sejak 2017 hingga 2024.
Mercedes-AMG juga mencatat lima gelar manufaktur di Macau yang diraih pada 2015, 2017, 2019, 2023, dan 2024.
Mercedes-AMG GT3 juga memegang rekor lap GT3 di Guia Circuit dengan catatan waktu 2 menit 14,542 detik yang dibuat Raffaele Marciello pada 2023.
Stefan Wendl, Head of Customer Racing Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, mengatakan timnya senang dapat kembali mengikuti FIA GT World Cup di Macau dengan line-up bersama Craft-Bamboo Racing dan Tigani Motorsport.
“We are delighted to be back on the grid for the prestigious FIA GT World Cup in Macau with a very strong line-up. My thanks go to our Customer Racing Teams Craft-Bamboo Racing and Tigani Motorsport for running our entries. Macau is both a highlight and a challenge. Torque sensors have been mandatory in the FIA GT World Cup since last year. As we do not yet have any experience with them on the Guia Circuit, we are placing particular emphasis on preparation and simulation work. Mercedes-AMG Motorsport has a successful history in Macau, and of course we want to build on that,” kata Stefan Wendl.
Maro Engel Bidik Kesuksesan Berikutnya
Maro Engel menyambut kembalinya Mercedes-AMG Motorsport ke Macau setelah satu tahun tidak mengikuti ajang tersebut dan menyebut Guia Circuit sebagai tantangan yang menuntut presisi tinggi dari setiap pembalap.
“I’m really looking forward to returning to this fantastic event in Macau after a year away. I’ve enjoyed some great successes there in the past together with Mercedes-AMG Motorsport. The circuit demands everything from you as a driver and you have to be incredibly precise – that’s the kind of challenge I love, because it’s a place where you can really make the difference as a driver,” kata Engel.
Menurut Engel, sesi kualifikasi akan menjadi bagian penting dalam menentukan hasil akhir karena setiap pembalap akan berusaha maksimal dan posisi start memiliki peran penting di Macau.
Sementara itu, Lucas Auer menyambut kesempatan menjalani penampilan pertamanya di ajang GT3 pada Guia Circuit dan akan memanfaatkan waktu sebelum November untuk melakukan persiapan.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be returning to Macau. It is simply an incredible event and something very special for every driver. That makes me even more excited about my first GT3 outing on the Guia Circuit in November. I’ll be making intensive use of the time between now and then to prepare as best as possible, with simulator sessions as well as extensive video and data analysis,” kata Lucas Auer.
